ThirdLove

These freezing cold blustery winter days are at least good for one thing: product reviews that can easily be shot inside my warm home! ;)

Recently I received this pretty little set from ThirdLove, a new to me online lingerie shop that just recently started shipping to Canada. What sets them apart from the rest, in my opinion is that they offer half cup sizes for all of you who find yourself in between and never with the right fit, and that they have a mobile app that allows you to measure in the privacy of your own home! Pretty neat!

I chose the Feather Light Spacer Bra and matching panty. I was definitely in need of a nude everyday t-shirt type bra, and while I was tempted by all the super pretty sets on the site, thought this would be a good opportunity to get a really well fitting, quality bra set that I can wear any day! And while they do offer a more basic t-shirt bra, I thought this was the perfect compromise as it's also really pretty with all the lace detailing!

Overall I'm really happy with it. I went with my normal size and the fit was great! It's a super comfy, wear all day, any day type bra that still leaves you feeling pretty!

Complexion Rescue - A New Shade of Skincare

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue

It's no secret that winter wreaks havoc on skin, and if you're anything like me you find yourself trying to figure out what will give your skin that major moisture boost it so desperately needs without leaving you feeling greasy or breakout-prone!

Well my friends, I think I've just found the answer! Enter, bareMinerals' Complexion Rescue - it's a super hydrating gel cream that takes the best parts of a bb cream, cc cream and tinted moisturizer all in one! Plus, it's a hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic formula that has no silicone, fragrance, oil or parabens!

I've been using this product for just over a week now and I can honestly say any sign of dry, flaky winter skin is gone. My skin definitely feels softer and has a more dewy appearance.

I will fully admit as a girl who battles with rosacea, redness, and semi-regular breakouts, I was unsure that this would work for me. I had perfect skin as a teenager but once I hit 30 I've been struggling to figure out my skin. So light coverage didn't sound like it was going to cut it, but truthfully it's really build-able, and with a little concealer and powder, I was good to go! Application is really easy, too... you can use your fingers or the smoothing face brush

More than anything though I just really love how this product feels. It really absorbs into your skin and totally hydrates it. When my skin is winter-dry, most foundations end up looking cakey or really bring out those awful little flakes of skin - Complexion Rescue is completely opposite and moisturizes better than my daily moisturizer! Pretty impressive.

This was my first time trying any bareMinerals product and I can tell you that I've spent some serious time browsing their other products online. My next trip to Sephora will definitely include a few others! With a mantra of "Be original. Be natural. Be good", what's not to love?

This post was sponsored by bareMinerals but all opinions are 100% my own.

#SMILESTYLE challenge update & giveaway winner!

You might remember a couple weeks ago I took Crest up on their offer for a 2 Weeks to Your Whitest Smile challenge, testing out their Crest 3D White Luxe Supreme Flex Fit strips! Well today I'm here to chat about my results and my experience over all, AND to announce the winner of the 3D White Giveaway!

I diligently used them for the first 5 or 6 days, and was definitely noticing a difference. THEN it was moving week - enter chaos, painting, cleaning, moving, late nights, and general scatterbrain-ness and admittedly, I missed a few days. So, to be completely honest, I'm doing this final review with a few strips left to go. Which only means the results could get even better from here!

I didn't experience any tooth sensitivity when using them regularly - which might in part be because of the awesome tooth sensitivity toothpaste they provided me! There was only one day that I did one set late at night and my next set early the next morning that I experienced some sensitivity, but I think I just used them too close together!

All in all, I think this is a great product and I definitely noticed my teeth getting whiter and I am excited to see the last few days through!

And without further ado, the lucky winner of her own pack of Crest 3D White Strips is... SALLY! I'll be emailing you later today! Congrats!

OPI Neon Collection

OPI neon hotter than you pink
OPI neon down to the core-al
OPI neon you are so outta lime

Summer + Neon = Love. It's true. And this summer I have been loving the neon collection from OPI. I was sent a set of minis to try out earlier this summer from Obsessed Look and I have been sporting some of them pretty non-stop!

Above are photos of my top 3 - my favorite, hands down is "Hotter Than You Pink" which is a gorgeous little neon pink that you might have noticed be wearing in about 75% of my posts this summer!

I also really love "Down To The Core-al" which is punchy coral color.

I'm generally not a big fan of green nail polish - I've tried it a few times in the past and end up taking it off later that same day, but this green - "You Are So Outta Lime!" - I kept on for a few days and got multiple compliments on, so if you're into greens, this is definitely worth checking out!

As with most neons, they go on matte, so I always finish it with a high gloss top coat as I am more of a shiny-nail kinda gal. ;) Have you tried any of the neons from this collection? Which one is your fave?

April Showers

Shirt: J. Crew, Jeans: Gap, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Bracelets: c/o Derng, c/o Shlomit Ofir, and O My Heart!, Watch: Michael Kors, Belt: Jacob, Shoes: Zara, Nails: Butter London Disco Biscuit c/o Nail Polish Canada, iPhone case: J. Crew

Sometimes blogging proves to be very difficult. After not getting photos of my Easter dinner outfit on Easter day, I decided to dress back up in it the next day for photos. (Yes, sometimes this happens.) Just as I was about to grab my camera, it started to pour. I checked the weather forecast and it's apparently supposed to rain every day but 2 for the next 14 days. Sigh. Sad that I had zero outfit posts for the coming week, I took off my Easter dinner outfit and put on my super comfy clothes and took to the couch. I heard the rain taper off and I ran outside and snapped these quickly so that I'd have something to share - so here you have my holiday Monday lounge around the house outfit, with a few extra accessories!

Speaking of accessories, I am loving my new mixed metal bracelets from Derng! I love how nicely the gold & silver tones go together, and I can wear them with virtually everything! Stay tuned for a fun giveaway happening soon!!

And let's jump from my wrist to my nails for a second - Nail Polish Canada was kind enough to send me two Butter London polishes to review! I had never tried Butter London before, but I am pretty impressed and loving this shimmery almost jelly-like polish called Disco Biscuit! Both of the colors I picked out are different from everything else in my collection!

I hope you all had an amazing Easter weekend!

Misikko Hana Hair Dryer Review!

A little extra post today that I've been meaning to share with you for ages! The lovely folks at Misikko sent me over this hair dryer a while ago to review, and I have to admit, before receiving it I didn't really think there was much difference between hair dryers... they all blow hot air, right? This Hana hair dryer, however, is hands down waaay better than any others I've used in the past. It's super powerful & dries my hair much faster than my previous ones! I also own one of their flat irons, which I've mentioned here before and both products are so great! They don't come without a fairly hefty price tag, but if you want to invest in a great hair dryer, I would definitely reccomend this one! Thanks so much to Misikko for allowing me to try this out!

A Glimpse, A Glance (& a little review)

01 Fancy tights & sparkly nails
02 A gorgeous new silk scarf from Denj
03 A blueberry ale before heading to the Hollerado show
04 Deborah Lippmann's 'Good Girl Gone Bad' c/o Nail Polish Canada

My mailbox has been pretty happy lately, and is only going to happier! This week I received this gorgeous silk scarf by Denj, after winning a giveaway from Lot 65! Danielle, designer behind Denj is also the girl behind one of my very favorite blogs, Hello Denj, so I was thrilled to get to own one of her pretty pieces!

Also arriving in my mailbox this week was this sparkly Deborah Lippmann nail polish from Nail Polish Canada! They generously offered for me to pick out a color from the new Deborah Lippman holiday collection! I was very tempted by the super-holiday glitter polishes (especially in red & gold) but fell in love with this sparkly plum color (pictured in the first & last photos above!), called Good Girl Gone Bad. This is my first time using Deborah Lippmann, and I think I'm officially hooked! You'll get to see more of this polish in a couple of my outfit posts coming up this week!

Hope you all had fantastic weekends!

A Shoe Review

Dress: American Apparel, Cardigan: Honey Punch, Bag: Linea Pelle, Necklace: Envy, Shoes: c/o PB&J Boutique

A few weeks ago the sweet people at PB&J Boutique asked me if I'd like to review a pair of Poetic License shoes, a brand which I had heard of before but had never actually tried! I decided to give this fun embellished polka dot pair a whirl! My immediate impression is that this is the type of shoe that would garner lots of compliments from the ladies in the office! They're practical, comfortable, but with enough pizzazz to shake things up a bit. (See, they even make my incredibly boring black and gray outfit more fun!) One thing to note though is that these easily run a full size large! So keep that in mind, but otherwise, a pretty adorable little office shoe!

Thanks PB&J Boutique for the opportunity to review! <3

HANA Titanium Flat Iron Review!

When Misikko asked me to review their HANA titanium flat iron, I was more than willing to give it a try. If you see my old iron below, you will understand why.  I also had the option of reviewing a salon hair dryer, but felt that my hair could benefit from a good ceramic flat iron, so chose to try out this one! This arrived in the mail recently, and I was instantly impressed with their packaging & extra goodies they included in the package!

The iron itself is lightweight, attractive and easy to use. It straightens quite well - I'm in desperate need of a hair cut and with summer humidity and rain, it has kept my hair nice & straight! The biggest difference I see between this and my old iron is that my hair never gets caught in it, and the biggest pro - it never leaves it smelling like burning! Sure, these sound like obvious benefits, but my old iron pulled my hair and left it fried! And so far, this one moves very smoothly and never tugs!

So what was I using before? Only the ugliest flat iron on the planet. It's burnt - I'm not sure how it got so burnt, but the once yellow plates are now dingy brown. It often catches my hair and pulls it and makes it smell like burning. Overall, a fairly useless and super unattractive piece of equipment!

So overall I must say I am THRILLED with my upgrade!! I don't have a lot of flat iron experience, but I would definitely recommend this one after a few uses! I'm especially excited to try it with a fresh hair cut, which will hopefully be happening soon! At $259.99 it's definitely a little on the expensive side, but I am hoping in the long run that this means I will no longer have frizzy, burnt pieces of hair for my stylist to scold me about! ;)

A huge thank you to Misikko for allowing me to test out this fantastic product! All views expressed here are my own - I was simply asked to try it out & write about my experience. Overall, I give this one a big thumbs up! You can see the results of me using this iron in Tuesday's outfit post!
