Happy Monday! I'm back today with another holiday outfit (if you missed my other ones, check out my outfit picks for a cozy night in and spending time with family!)  - this time we're focusing on a night out with the girls! It's always fun to get together with your best girls,  be it for a night on the town, a nice dinner, or cocktails and a gift exchange! This outfit is both comfortable and festive, with cozy knits and  an abundance of glitz & glitter.

One of the best parts of the holiday season is all the time you get to spend with family! Holiday Outfit #2 - A Fun House Party

Hey guys! I'm back today with another holiday inspired outfit, this time for a fun house party! 

House parties are always a little tricky, because you want to dress up and be festive but you don't want to be too formal (especially as some house parties end up being super casual, you never really know!) so opt for something playful and fun! I love the cut of this Rebecca Taylor dress (which is now super on sale!) - it's loose fitting, playful and has a flirty back cut out. 

Nothing says fun and festive quite like Kate Spade, so I layered on accessories like these glitter keds, a pretty watch and cute bow earrings. Top it off with a red nail and cat eye liner and you're good to go!

Holiday Outfit #1 - A Casual Get Together

Along with the holidays comes parties and social gatherings galore! Sometimes it can be hard to know what to wear for each type of event, especially if you have to hit up more than one event in the same day/night! So I thought I'd put together some inspiration for a few different holiday looks to help get you through the season in style! 

This outfit is so cozy and cute, and something that could be worn throughout the winter, but is especially perfect for casual cozy dinners, gift exchanges with girl friends, or going out for a hot chocolate date! Outfits that are cute, warm and supremely comfortable are at the top of my list, and I can't imagine anything better than cozying up in this gorgeous sweater dress paired with tights, flat over the knee boots and little bits of bling to add that holiday touch! 

Sequin Season

With a holiday/housewarming party around the corner, I have my eye on party wear and nothing says holiday party quite like sequins! You can go full out glam with a sequin dress (this strapless number is killer, too and less than $90!) or mix a casual cozy sweater or tee with a sequin skirt or pants, or dress up jeans with a cute sequin top! All kinds of ways to work sequins in to your holiday wardrobe!

Painted Pumpkins

Thanksgiving is on Monday here in Canada, and I spotted these adorable painted pumpkins on pinterest (originally from Chatelaine Mag) and thought they were too cute not to share! How cute would these be for the center of your Thanksgiving dinner table? Or even as decor for your fall wedding?

Speaking of weddings, that is exactly how I'll be spending my Thanksgiving weekend - at my good friend's wedding! I am super excited. 

I've yet to decide if I'll cook a turkey later in the weekend or not. I always start by saying "Oh, I don't know if I'll do it this year..." and then I end up cooking one anyway. It feels like so much effort for just the two of us (we aren't spending it with family this year) but at the same time, turkey dinner is just so damn delicious. So these gorgeous little pumpkins won't be gracing my dinner table this year, but I'll certainly keep them in mind for years I'm actually hosting!

Bring It Downtown

I was invited to be part of a local campaign called "Bring it Downtown" again this year, which is an initiative through Downtown Fredericton to encourage people to support local downtown business! 15 local bloggers/social media folks were invited to take part. You may remember that I participated last year as well, under the theme of "try something new" where I decided to head to my favorite downtown salon, Blonde Inc, and my "something new" was a new 'do! I chopped about 8 inches off my hair! 

This year, our themes were based on banners hung on lamp posts around the city, and I got "get cultured". I wasn't sure how to make this fit in with the blog, exactly, but eventually decided on an evening of theatre at the Fredericton Playhouse. The fella and I had a festive date & went to see "Miracle on 34th Street", which was such a sweet performance! And I may have used a few of my downtown dollars to pick up the nail polish I'm wearing from Made You Blush (Deborah Lippmann's "Boom Boom Pow" which I layered over a dark blackish green) even though it didn't really fit the theme! ;)

I thought it would be the perfect occasion to wear this gorgeous sparkly striped dress from Ivy & Blu! It's so perfectly holiday and feels so very me - black, white, gold, stripes & sparkle? Yes, please. I also finally got to break out my new clutch from Olivia + Joy, in all of its black & gold studded goodness.

Christmas Tree Hunting

As much as I love going to the farmer's market on a hot sunny summer day, there's something so festive about going on a crisp winter day when the lot is filled with trees and wreaths and other Christmas goodies! Today we got our Christmas tree! Since the first year we were together, we've gotten our tree at the farmer's market on the first Saturday morning of December. I love this tradition and it's so much nicer to do it on a bright sunny Saturday where you can really see the trees and can follow it up with other market goodies. There's nothing like the smell of a fresh Christmas tree to get you a little more in the holiday spirit!

It's the first day of December so I thought I'd share this to-do list from Kate Spade as an advent calendar of sorts - 31 adorably festive things to do over the next 31 days! I think it's the perfect balance of frivolous and fun and I'm going to make an effort to cross off as many from this list as I can before we ring in the new year!

I have a few things that I'd add from my own holiday season to-do, including watching Love Actually (maybe more than once) and going on a Swiss Chalet 'festive special' date with my guy (a cheesy tradition that I think only my fellow Canadians will understand)

A Glittery Holiday Mashup

This is partly a wish list and partly just a mash up of what I want my holidays to look like this year! I'm dreaming of holiday gatherings where I throw on an easy, festive dress topped with gorgeous jewels like this beautiful crystal statement necklace or glam oversized studs, or this delicate bow bangle for a more classic look. Finished off with glittery nails, a pretty new scent and a bold red lip and I'll be ready to party! 

Party, you say? Then let's break out the gold embellished party platters and say 'cheers!' as we toast to the holidays! 

And maybe, just maybe under the tree I'll find these amazing glitter kicks by Kate Spade x Keds?

Feeling Festive

Can we just have a moment for the new Joe Fresh holiday collection? I am swooning. My shopping cart is overflowing with beautiful things. This is seriously just a small sampling of the gorgeousness that is on their site right now, and it doesn't hurt that the most expensive item above is $49, either.

Even though we're just past Halloween, I am getting the festive bug. I am seeing sequins everywhere I turn and I want it all. I want to wear nothing but party dresses and plaid and velvet and sparkly things! I just picked up the black lace peplum tonight - it comes in cream as well, which will more than likely also be coming home with me in the near future. ;)

New Years Eve

A quick little New Years Eve photoshoot, in which both subject & photographer had already consumed multiple glasses of wine! We went to a small gathering at my friend Kristin's house (see below!) which was very nice! It was very amusing doing a blog photoshoot in front of a room full of friends, but made for some fun laughing ones! 

After eyeing this skirt all over the place for months now, it appeared under the Christmas tree from my dear Daddio (love that he went full out Modcloth for most of my gifts! Go Dad go!) The sparkly waistband and flowy, flirty skirt made it perfect for a NYE party! 

I hope you all rang in the new year beautifully & happily!
