Song of the Week!

Happy Friday! I am so excited that the weekend is here - it's the first weekend of December, which means it's the weekend we get our Christmas tree! We always go to our local farmer's market on Saturday morning and pick one out there. It's my favorite tradition that we've created as a couple and it means I'll be spending ALL weekend curled up beside it taking it all in. 

This song has nothing to do with christmas trees, but I sure am liking it lately! ;) I hope you do, too!

With the holiday party season approaching, I find myself throwing songs into a spotify folder so I won't forget them when it's time to put together my party playlist! This one will definitely be making the cut - I love Anderson Paak and on this track he teams up with Mac Miller and the beat is just so. good.

Song of the Week

This fall has been a good one for musical discoveries. I mentioned last week that I've been listening to a ton of The Head and The Heart, and I find that this has a very similar vibe. I've been listening to King Charles a lot the past month or so and it was really hard to choose which song to share with you, as I love so many! So really, just check out the whole album. It's so good!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I'm sure many of you will be doing Halloween things - I'm not huge on Halloween, other than handing out candy to the kiddos, so I'll be laying low and other than munching on too many mini chocolate bars, won't be partaking! That said, after a busy couple weeks I'm reallllly looking forward to spending a quiet weekend at home! Happy Friday!

Song of the Week!

If you're looking for the perfect fall soundtrack, look no further than The Head and The Heart. I've been listening to their new album pretty non stop for the past month or so, and I keep loving it more & more. Aside from this single, I also really love "Turn it Around", "False Alarm" and "Rhythm & Blues", but really you should just listen to the whole album. 

It's shaping up to be a beautiful fall weekend here, and after two weeks of being sick with a cold, I am finally on the mend and sooo happy it's Friday! Happy weekend, friends!

Song of the Week (plus a September Spotify Playlist)

Happy Friday! I've really been liking this single from Bastille and I just realized that their full new album was just released this week so I will definitely be taking some time to explore that today! I wasn't totally sure of them with their last album, even though I found their singles catchy, but I think I'm starting to like this band a whole lot more.

I always seem to spend more time in the fall exploring music. Things get a little more low key and my music tastes shift a little to reflect that. I'd LOVE to know what you're listening to these days and if you have any suggestions for me! Happy Friday, friends! I've shared this song on other forms of social media but it's really been my favorite lately so I thought I'd share it here as well. I'm not sure how well known this band is just yet but I can see them exploding - they're just so darn good. Check them out if you haven't already! 

What's on the go for the weekend? My mom is coming to visit and I'm looking forward to some long overdue mother daughter time! I'm envisioning nachos on a sunny patio and drinks in the sunshine and some nice quality time.

Jr Jr is another band I've been listening to quite a bit lately. They are perfect for my walks to work in the morning - not too aggressive or loud but enough to put a little pep in my step early in the morning. This is a bizarre little video but I think it makes me like this song even more!

I'm always looking forward to the weekend, but this weekend I'm extra excited for. Not because there's anything particularly special going on, but it's going to be SUNNY and it's going to be HOT and the weekend is going to be filled with rugby watching and drinks, plus a pedicure with a gal pal and perhaps some pool time on Sunday. After weeks of rain, this feels like the official summer kick off and I. AM. PUMPED.

Here's a song I've been listening to on repeat lately. You're probably familiar with Miike Snow's single Genghis Khan, which I also love, but this one is my favorite from the album I think. Enjoy!

I was going to do a song of the week, and then I realized there are SO many songs that I am just loving right now, so why not share them all in one big playlist? I've become increasingly obsessed with spotify and am always on the hunt for new people to follow and playlists to listen to!

Song of the Week!

In the last month or so I've become increasingly obsessed with Jack Garratt. I struggled with which song to choose to post here, but since this is one of the only ones with an actual video I opted for this one - plus it's suuuuper good - but I am also very much in love with Fire & Worry. Man oh man. All so good. Mostly I just suggest checking out the entire album, because it's that good.

Song of the Week!

You guys, I'm obsessed with this song. I was a huge fan of "Latch" by Disclosure last year, and while it wasn't instant love with this new album (except his song with Lorde - love love love that one!) it's grown on me a ton this past little while and I have listened to this song probably 50 times this week. It's just so fun.

I was actually really surprised to not be able to find any official video for this tune - this is the ONLY video of it I could find at all. But you still get the song, and that's what's most important.

I'm not sure when my musical tastes drifted so much towards electro/dance/hip hop but I find myself listening to way less rock and a lot more pop/electro lately. Case in point, this jam by Majid Jordan. I've been listening to this one a ton lately & love it more each listen. Check it out and haaaaaaaappy Friday!!

Song of the Week!

So it's not Friday, which is my usual song of the week day, but it's rainy and I'm sleepy and felt like I should share something as it's been a while. "Latch" by Disclosure was a long-standing favorite of mine, and they just released this new one called "Omen" and it's a pretty fun dance jam that I'm hoping will help pep me up on this groggy morning. Other than that I think today calls for a breakfast sandwich, a browsing the internet for  pumps/shoes or boots of some sort & cozy fall sweaters.

Okay Wednesday, let's do this.

Happy Friday, friends! It's supposed to be a gloriously hot & sunny weekend and I'm looking forward to some mother daughter time, gorging on nachos on a rooftop patio, bbq-ing, sitting in the back yard with a few radlers... mmm! Summer weekends are already indulgent, but adding mother/daughter time to it makes it all that more so!

I've been a fan of MØ this past year and in this song she teams up with Major Lazer and I love the result! It's the perfect party track by chance you find yourself needing one this weekend! Enjoy!

Happy Friday! I can honestly say I don't have a single plan for this weekend - it's shaping up to be pretty leisurely, but you never know what can come up! But with another 20cm of snow forecasted to come down this weekend, I might just be curled up in a ball crying and/or watching House of Cards.

That all said, I love this song. I shared another one from BØRNS earlier this year and their songs put me in a good mood pretty much instantly!  Enjoy your weekends!

Happy Friday!! I'm always so happy to see this day roll around. Not that my weekends have consisted of very much during these winter months, mostly hibernating on my couch, cooking, and oh so slowly attempting to purge half of my closet. This weekend I'm looking forward to some beer tasting with a group of ladies, and perhaps some other social activity - whhhat? Leave my house? It just might happen.

When you combine Calvin Harris and Haim, really good things happen. Loving this song right now!

Song of the Week!

Happy Friday!  There's a few songs I've been listening to on repeat lately, and this is definitely one of them. I just love it. MisterWives is a band I need to explore more, as I've only heard a few songs, but I am definitely loving what I've heard so far! 

And it's the WEEKEND! While I'm supremely happy it's weekend time, I have mixed emotions going into it. I'm supposed to be travelling for my niece's baptism but we're also supposed to get a massive snowstorm (50+ cm! How is this even possible? There is truly nowhere to put it, we are already buried in snow). So it's looking like we won't be making it for that. And then it's Valentine's day! Which I didn't put much thought into because we were going to be heading to the baptism and hanging with my fam. But now if we're staying put... we have no plans! Ha! But just as long as we're together, right?
